which character to add?
Hello, I've been using The Queen Of Fighters 2019, and I've been wondering. How do you know which character you can or can't add, depending on the version? I've been adding different characters, but some of them just don't appear. NEED HELP!!!
Re: which character to add?
Please check the following guide; your problem is very likely to be solved by reading section number 4.

i already know how to do this. I'm wondering how you know what character works with a given version.

If you're referring to the "2019" designation, it doesn't mean anything more than the name someone gave it.
Now, if you want to know the exact version of MUGEN you're using, press the F1 key; it will display the MUGEN version you have installed.
To find out which version of a character file you're using, check the contents of the character's .def file.
Most characters will work in newer versions of MUGEN, unless they contain code that was specifically designed for an older version and isn't compatible with the newer one.
And yes, if the character doesn't appear, it's because the character definition in the select.def file is incorrect. There's no other explanation. It doesn't matter which version of MUGEN you're using; the character will always appear, and if it's incompatible, MUGEN will display an error message when trying to load it.
