By backup, you mean the files, right?

Some kind soul with free time and plenty of hard drive space has surely done it, or you could just wait for Machine Wayback to work its magic and voila! Although most of the content is linked to MEGA, so it's still there, just not the site itself, but accessing it through Machine Wayback should be enough... in theory.

Some minor controversey but AK1 mugen has been doing a pretty good job at having 18+ Mugen for awhile. The people there have been slowly backing up stuff from HCM and even have some older files that were discontinued.The chat isn't the greatest but it's there. The owner is a bit police heavy but it's nothing close to Mugen free for all if I'm reading their history correctly and she herself (yes a woman runs that site) is just as bad as we are all.

A couple issues with Discord - one being file size. One person will at least need Discord Nitro to post or share files bigger than 10 mbs. Another being 18+ restrictions. Most of us playing (and just general sexual indulgence) are located around the world but Discord has been (trying to) conform/(ing) to whatever laws and regulations there are. To add to that, (a third issue), you really might want to make sure that server if one is started is actually 18+. No kid versions of any characters (I don't even know why that's a thing - Sorry Shadaloo I know you do a lot for 18+ Mugen but the Kid Chichi thing for one of your characters really bothers me as an example) including Fairies, Loli's, etc. Up to you if you really want to police ages of people in the server.

Beyond that, that's about it. I'm sure most of us play this to goon. I wouldn't chat with anyone unless asking about characters, files, and about 18+ stuff in general. I suggest making a channel that links to other servers and just general PSAs like news, retweets from Twitter/X, mirrors, or people to steer clear from.

I'm mostly speaking from experience in Monster Girl Encyclopedia servers but use common sense.

You want to make sure the server is 18+ if you have ANY KIND OF ADULT CONTENT , so the integrality of Hentai MUGEN characters not particularly lolisho content

that's actually a common issue , most people infuse that opinion in liquid form, coat a cactus with it and have sex with said cactus trough prefered hole,
give it a try.

If you have ANY adult/ 18+ content you must ensure its a +18 space, that goes for MUGEN , it is NOT "ok as long as no lolisho " What bottom tier IQ take , genuine missinformation .

Aj (HCM Owner) never mentioned why he made the decision to delete everything, and he's ignoring all kind of messages.
So, a WIP site is being made as of now. The full backup for all characters (700+) wouldn't be possible, since none of us have
permission to edit the main site, only he does. I know some Discord server such as Viket, Bewa, bara, and the others may have
those characters in the listing.

We will try to import all the characters in the list, but I can't promise all will be on the list, since I heard some links are dead,
and never been updated for ages. The GUI (Graphic User Interface), may change a little, and same goes with the search engine.

Again, I can't say much about it, since I'm not the web dev who is re-creating it.

I wouldn't even recommend people to use Discord at all, but that's the choice for the people preferences, and why not? Simple, they're
trying to add "verified Identity" not "age verification", in addition, using a surveillance third-party that
trained your data, your personal info, and everything related to you. What company? "persona"

So I heard, but I also heard many have been rejected due to "preference choices", or refusing to show personal ID,
or any proof that they are adults. Again, those are the things I heard, that is true or not, I can't confirm, and the big
difference between HCM and Ak1.

Ak1 requires you to have an account and be verified you're an adult while HCM doesn't required any proof that you're
an adult, or the need to have an account.

Its a thing, because I believe Japan was the first one that started it all, and its called Loli, and Shota. Just like "futa", that it should be a female

PS~ Even if you're against it, in some country and in some states. Did some math with a few hundred characters I downloaded and the average character is about 13.41 megabytes. Times 704 this gives us 9.387 gigabytes which is suprisingly not that much. I leaned towards higher quality characters so the average is probably lower.

Not all characters has 14mb, and the very lowest I seen was 850KB which is from Corrupted Umbreon.
I'm sure very low pixel character can be at least 500KB - 750KB, but I haven't seen one as of now

I have a lot of characters backed up. I don't know know if they all are, but I've been searching for Mugen characters for a long time now. Please let me know, before this forum goes poof, which site is going to be the next HCM site, and I'll be happy to help restore what characters I can.

I apologize for coming off as that. Like I know there is Loli, Shota, Futa etc for that and everyone has their thing that they get off to, and I would rather not throw the word pedophile at someone like MvS who I don't know nor have enough information on, especially if they aren't intending to be.

To MvS:

The 18+ policing thing is more so how far you want to take it. Like usually you mark a channel +18 and that's all most people do, but I've also seen different servers take it to different levels like Date of Birth for example or mods stalking socials (I think one of the main caption making discords was like this, not sure it's been awhile).

The reason why I brought up no Lolisho was actually due to recent events like this:

Which I don't even agree shouldn't have happened. Speaking from an objective point, usually things like this set a precedent. They'll (Discord, X/Twitter, heck even YT) allow everything you think of, but when it comes to Loli content, despite countries blocking said content, it's still probably the biggest risk out there. It's why I brought up the the no lolishow earlier - you can at least comply with the bare minimum if that makes sense, and that's probably why you thought I was misinformating - I promise I'm not speaking out of my ass.

I bring all of this up because I recognize that 18+ Mugen is something you all care about. Whether you want to keep it lowkey or being open to the public is up to you, whether that be using already existing sources or making new ones. You all put a lot of time into this and no one wants to see it die again. But, people will be looking for sources. Based off what I'm seeing, pretty much all the moderators here are some of the main point of contacts/leaders of the not just the forum, but 18+ mugen as a whole (you are one of the first searches to pop up and it's pretty easy to make an account to reach you) by default. Depending on what you decide to do, there are going to be some constraints you'll have to adhere to. I was just wanting to point these things out, especially because what you can do is pretty actionable without necessarily needing to spend a lot of money, if any and doesn't take operating a website. It's not all doom and gloom.
