Dear NSFW Community

Post by ZEkA10000 »

Good afternoon, friends, and colleagues.
After being in the community for quite a long time and making my edits, I've found myself repeatedly thinking that I often don't know what sex positions and states are used in the characters.

This was clearly evident when I was making my pony edits, thinking I was doing a regular edit on my Futa ponies. But it turns out I was making them based on Bara-compatible characters, with a few Kuromaru Press animations added. Despite this, it turns out that my work was done for nothing and the Bara-compatible characters' compatibility and Kuromaru himself have been updated, and I wasn't even aware of it.

Opening up freshly downloaded characters through Fighter Factory, I frequently see that Bottoms are having animations, but the editor hasn't labeled what the pose is and where it's used. Example: Animation is Doggy Style, but in FF it is nameless.
There's a similar pattern with tops that have states and animations of how their character is dominating, but it's nobody knows how the opponent must be positioned for it.
There have been instances where the Top uses the Doggy Style, but the Bottom uses the Missionary position as a reaction. (Wrong animation example)
And also seen one where a character has reactions for Doggy Style, but it doesn't apply when Top triggers that pose (Top humping the air).
One thing that is comforting is that versatile characters can give an idea of the poses that are used during sex. But often it's either Futas or Gay/Bara

And why am I writing all this?
There are many examples in the community where edited characters use different states and different animations to display the same sex pose with the same speed. This is often a problem when creating an edit and trying to make it compatible with other characters.

And here is a question:
Has the community made standards or tables for poses, states, and animations to give the editor an idea of which pose and in what situation it applies?
I think this kind of standardization could help the community as a whole when creating their edits, as it would be easier to understand and adapt the character for compatibility with others.

Newbies | Bara Characters

xxxxxMaking support for bara characters is a painful task, and what I mean by this is that bara characters are always changing their numbers for unknown reasons. Either because they don't know, or they just use any numbers they feel like using. This applies to newcomers that are starting off with nsfw mugen. They don't know what is what, and most likely use any numbers they feel best in using, which lends to mess up animations that doesn't match, or you can't give support towards it because that number is used for something else.

xxxxxNot many people are smart enough to leave comments/name on the pose they are in, or tell the user in what character this animation group is used for. From what I heard by others, they also do this to keep the animation private. The Jap**/Chi** usually do this to avoid sharing the data info of that aggressor grab, especially in Kuro's.
In short, "Not labeling".

Alignment | Position

xxxxxThere's no good answer for that. Every character comes in different size, this also applies to the file image they are using. You can only assume or do many try and errors to finally match the position of that move/animation.

StateNo | StateDef and Animations

xxxxxI see no problem when it comes to using different states. It like saying:
  • "You can't be a male, because I'm a male"
  • "You can't use my name, because that's my name"
  • "You can't call yourself a editor, because I'm an editor"
xxxxxGet what I'm saying now about different states. Not all characters needs 10K StateNo, and not all characters needs 5K. This applies to sprites and animations too.

xxxxxMugen gives you the freedom to use any numbers you want. So, if I use a top character as 12250, you know that's an issues because most character use 12250 for bottom missionary, but if I use 22250, most characters won't have an issue... until you hit Kuro or Mino that use that number for something else.

Resume |Conclusion
  • You can use any StateNo/StateDef your heart desired, because it doesn't effect victims or aggressors, because everyone is different.
  • You can use any numbers of poses or animations, because it won't effect victims or aggressors. The only time it effects a victim is when they are using a customize number that allows a victim to use their own animation number.
  • In sprite group, it effects heavily for both top and bottom, especially when it comes to nsfw grabs. This is because the person who is using the attacker must use a unique sprite group. Most attackers doesn't care what animation group the person may use. This only applies to none-supported characters. Supported characters (As in, customize animations) will effect heavily if that number is used for something else, Just like DoggyStyle on missionary. It won't look good, and there's no way to fix it unless you change the attacker into a different (As in, modified the top character into changing the victim into a different animation group).
There's no standard numbers for NSFW, but most creator/Scriptwriters uses the default value of:
  • 17230.0 - 17230.2 for Cowboy/Cowgirl
  • 19230.0 - 19230.2 for DoggyStyle
  • 12250.0 - 12250.2 for Missionary

    Some people use Pronebone as:
  • 12260.0 - 12260.2
  • 16245.0 - 16245.2

I already know that but for a lot of characters. Because they have the own set of moves.

Sometimes I think to make compatibility check somehow. Maybe separate character, or make an app.
Every character comes in different size
Every time, when I'm making sex poses for characters, I'm thinking about positioning the opponent for the pose. But thankfully, target's hole usually places to 0,0 coordinates and only nuance to set position in code.

Yeah, I clearly understand that, because these States are custom and stores only in Top character. But I mostly talked about animation IDs.

You can do an animation checker, by using:

Trigger | Condition Checker
  • animexist ( Not recommended )
  • selfanimexist ( Confirmed )
AIR animation groups
  • ChangeAnim ( Confirmed )
  • ChangeAnim2 ( Denied )
if they have the number, use ChangeAnim, and if they don't have it, use ChangeAnim2 as a default Animation.

Usually, the entrances( the hole ) is in (0, 0), but the problem you may face is when the hole is an even or odd number.

If the stick ( the juicy meat ) are even numbers (2,2), odd number characters ( the victims ) will have an issue when alignment are made, making it look weird (3,3)

Same goes with attackers (3,3) on victims(2,2). However, it looks slightly better than the other way around.

Now, if both characters are using the same pixels, alignment will always match perfectly, no matter the size of it.

If you have no plans on putting the attacker as a bottom side, then you can use any animation ID, even if the ID may be used for a bottom pose.

If you do have plans on putting them on both side... it will be a little tedious to do, but most of the time, its as easy as counting one, two, and three. Attacker needs to avoid using Animation ID of Bottom, and that's it~!. Simply no? lol

Don't crack your head too much about it and just use the number that most bottom are already using.
If this is a brand new pose, by all means~! create the number you prefer

Nice idea, but in fact similar lists or tables exist. It's just that they are usually not widely publicized for personal reasons.
Moreover, conflicts may arise between those lists, causing existing characters to have different definitions of the same animation number or sound group.

This phenomenon has already formed, and once it formed, it can't be reversed.
Based on mutual respect between creators, no one can force another person to modify his/her "list", right?

There is no absolute correct answer to the animation ID matter. Even if two characters have the same interpretation of the same animation ID, the angle and position may be very different and still causes compatibility issues.
Everything should be tried and tested and tried and tested and tried and tested as much as possible to confirm that it's your preferred result.

i hope my comment doesnt give bad rep to that one community (i have no problem with the baras just the way they do the stuff i already got a terrible impression the first time) and my main complain is their ignorance or negligence on simplify the compatibility for the newbies for that fear of "stole our code" thing that was quite ironic when majority of the chars got into a pack wherent even being by them (this was mentioned in a mugen H iceberg) and thats my only complain, baras should thought as well on the universal compatibility that all the agressors uses, same positions etc, theres 0 need to make them unique you only scare away potential creators into not wanting to make compatibilities for those chars ( this happend to me with kuromaru press not because was too hard because was stupidly tedious to make compatibility and theres not a order to follow to know where you putting the code) is one of the main reasons i took my time to investigate every agressor and compare their positions and code for make sure they fit the best as possible with every victim possible the only actual baras i saw that where friendly with the compatibilites was bara leo and bara jon talbain those where the only baras i ever saw that where nice with any victim

Okay then. As people don't have defaults for every pose they use, I will try to analyze 600+ chars from HCM and I will try to make a table with all sex poses they have.

At least personally, I appreciate your interest in presenting information that can guide us through all this compatibility chaos.

Unfortunately, since there is no standard because it is a "I do what I can and what I want" approach, there will always be different jobs. But don't worry, have fun as you have done until now and above all, we appreciate that you participate and create content for MUGEN.

Mmm, I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud, "why instead of analyzing the non-standardized work that is an endless chaos, you share with us a guide on how to create the sprites required for the victims, in the sexual positions that you made, whether or not they are the ones they need."

I think the above would be a fantastic guide for all the newbies and people lacking creative ideas (those who are always asking for compatibility things to be done for them, of which there are many in the forum and they don't even offer 1000 dollars for the work).

Well... For that case, I thought to make patches, related to sex moves. Actually, one patch as .cns files can be saved separately.

Someone some time ago wiser than I will ever be in my pathetic and miserable life, more or less said: "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" why not teach how to make edits instead of putting together the separate file. Both jobs have their merit and hard work, but you are free to choose what satisfies you and above all you would like to share.
