The year is almost over. I hope it's not just another year in the lives of those reading this. Of course, there were good times and not-so-good times, but the important thing is that we're still here.
And after all the philosophical musings about life, what are you all doing and what will you be doing next year in terms of MUGEN? Or does anyone have a surprise planned before the year ends and are waiting for the perfect moment...?

Here in my beloved third-world country, AI is just memes, plagiarism for school projects, and fake videos/images. I'm not saying it's impossible for it to affect employment, but without being unpatriotic, there's no way AI could do the work. For starters, there's no electrical grid or telecommunications infrastructure. We use gasoline-powered vehicles that are scrap from other places. Yesterday and today, I had to ride on a bus that fell off the floor and you could see the tire. It sounds funny, but it's also dangerous, and what happens? Nothing...
I'm not complaining, but I see that AI, at least in this part of the world, is going to take so long to arrive that I'll be dead, and even then, I have my doubts about how long it will take to work properly when it finally does arrive.
Note, I'm in favor of AI to the extent that it can help in everything, but it won't even arrive here. Maybe it will arrive in the form of soldiers, not in war, but in a factory. We're good at manufacturing other people's wealth and we can live on crumbs. Just give us internet, Coca-Cola, and some cheap potato chips and we'll keep quiet.

The fact that I've figured out to configure settings for Mugen is a huge plus. Now that I've graduated college...I'd like to be able to make a 1.1 build specifically for low end devices. The build I'm using now is pretty good, but I'd at least like to make a build that loads immediately, has a good character select, and just basic backgrounds. But as time progresses, I imagine 4 GB rams will be come the norm (or actually are due to the Ram hikes) and eventually someone will figure out how to make Ikemen Go work in Winalator without silent crashing or making a bootable Mugen apk that allows for all configurations in option menus.

That someone or yourself would need to learn Lua, the mother language of mugen.Throwaway20XV wrote: ↑Tue Dec 23, 2025 4:17 am The fact that I've figured out to configure settings for Mugen is a huge plus. Ikemen Go, is a mix of lua and Golang (The Programming Go language made by google). If you learned the concern of both languages, you can easily create the thing you want, or customize it which ever ways you want. This include mobile support, or mobile applications
